Major Rule Violations

Major violations include but are not limited to:
  • Any resident who obtains or attempts to obtain contraband that is not a threat to the safety and security of the facility (food, magazines, gum etc.).
  • Consistent disruptive behavior such as consistent use of foul language, yelling, pounding, excessive talking or arguing in spite of staff warnings and reminders (Arguing with staff concerning your point scores is an automatic major violation and does not require a warning).
  • Damage to chairs, books, school material, clothes, or other detention property.
  • Defiance, angry behavior or outright refusal to follow rules and instructions.
  • Failure or refusal to follow transfer rules and procedures.
  • Fighting or aggressive body contact, like pushing or shoving.
  • Generally a major violation is one of open defiance of the rules and or staff.
