County Manager

Overview


The County Manager is responsible for the day to day operation of the County, provides direct supervision of administrative departments, provides strategic and policy support to the County Council, and works in cooperation with the elected officials. The County Manager is appointed by and serves at the pleasure of the County Council.

Function


The County Manager is a key position in helping to provide for an accountable and responsive county government by ensuring effective, efficient and economical administration in accordance with the County Charter, the Washington State Constitution and other applicable federal, state, and local laws and County policy.

Centralized Services


The Centralized Services are housed and managed thru the County Manager's Office. Centralized Services provides quality internal support services to all San Juan County departments and agencies to ensure coordinated, accountable, efficient and cost effective use of resources. Centralized Services include: 
  

      
Facilities & Real Estate Management

The Facilities Management manages and maintains county buildings and grounds, contract services, and real estate leases.

Human Resources

  Human Resources (HR) provides leadership in attracting and retaining quality staff for effective service to the citizens of San Juan County. 


Communications 

 Manages communications and social media.


Information Technology 

Information Technology manages computer systems, telecommunications, internet/intranet services, records management, and mail services.

Risk Management & Claims

 Manages insurance, processes claims and legal challenges, and employee training.
